We offer the Lord our lives, our prayers, our gifts of bread and wine, and our financial gifts. Last Sunday, about 85 people attended the Liturgy. Our offering totalled $1799 in the ordinary collection, $28 for candles, $169 for new roof pledges, $100 for the church school, and $15 for t-shirts. Not everyone can make an equal gift, but everyone can make an equal sacrifice. Please make a generous sacrifice to support your church in proportion to the many blessings God has given you.« « « « «Liturgy Next Saturday, 26 September, at 6 PM; No Liturgy on Sunday 27 Sept. The only Liturgy next weekend at St Joseph’s will be Saturday 26 September at 6 pm.There will be no Divine Liturgy next Sunday morning, 27 September.Fr James will concelebrate the Liturgy for Deacon Joe’s 40th Ordination Anniversaryat Our Lady of Redemption that morning.« « « « «NAMY Works (For You)The members of our NAMY group are available to work for you! They came from about 15 other churches—Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant. They participated enthusiastically in the prayers and singing, and listened attentively to our speakers, Dr Hekmat Yousif, Mrs Siham Baladi, Mr Charles Frangie, and Mr Nimer Haddad. Many thanks to Nimer and his committee, including Charlene Jones, Fawaz Fawaz, John Mansour, and Beshara Geadaa; to choir leaders Khalil Rahme and Jim Butler and the whole choir, to Our Lady’s Society for providing hospitality; and to George El-Hage for operating the video recorder. Keep in mind that such occasions are for raising the awareness of the larger community about Christians in the Middle East and about our Eastern Christian church here in Lansing. These occasions are not about addressing our own political or national issues, or about pleasing ourselves. This event succeeded very well in making the larger community aware about Christians in the Middle East.Parish T-Shirts Will Be Available on WednesdayThe parish T-shirts ordered in the last few weeks are scheduled to be delivered to Fr James this Wednesday, 23 September.
